Test Your Geoscience knowledge in the EAGE Geo-Quiz!
Student delegates of the 1st Middle East Geoscience Student Conference are invited to participate in the EAGE Geo-Quiz, where they will put knowledge and skills to the test and compete with and against fellow students!
The EAGE Geo-Quiz is a fun and interactive way to test your knowledge by competing with and against fellow students. It was first held in 2007 in London, and since then, it has always been one of the highlights of EAGE’s regional conferences and the Annual Meetings. Participants will be able to select their teams, which must consist of no more than 3 students to qualify. Geoscience related questions will then be presented to the teams in a pop-quiz style, with 30-40 seconds to select the correct answer. The quiz will feature 3 rounds, and the team that makes it to the final round with the most points stands to walk away with a fantastic prize of 3 travel grants to 79th EAGE Conference & Exhibition 2017 (12-15 June, Paris, France).
How does it work?
– Each team must consist of no more than 3 students
– Each team will receive one buzzer to select their answers during the competition
– The questions will be shown on a screen
– Teams will answer the questions in a limited time
The quiz consists of several rounds with questions related to different fields in the geoscience industry. Areas of interest included in the quiz are geology, petroleum geoscience, geophysics, petrophysics and drilling. The level of the questions differs and will get more challenging as you draw nearer to the final round.
A great prize awaits the winning team, as they will receive full travel funding to the EAGE 79th Conference & Exhibition, held from 12 to 15 June 2017, in Paris, France. Here the team will not only participate in the global EAGE Geo-Quiz and compete against students from all over the world, but they will also take part in the comprehensive Student Programme for the event.
